BENEFITS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Benefits to Supporting Congregations

LCC is a professional, faith-based counseling referral source for pastors and congregation members. We offer
  • Individual and group psychotherapy
  • Support groups dealing with specific issues such as bereavement, caregiver support, addiction and other critical issues facing individuals and families.
  • Invitations to participate in pastoral counseling seminars and workshops as well as in Consultation Practicum offerings.

We offer counseling support for pastors and other professional church staff serving the congregation

  • Telephone consultation is available with a pastoral counselor to assist pastors and staff in dealing with counseling issues which arise within his/her pastoral care role. This consultation is free of charge for Association Congregations.

Congregations can work with LCC to develop health and wellness initiatives and programs for their congregations and the communities.

  • The counseling center can offer educational seminars, workshops and retreats to meet the specific needs of individual congregations.
  • Programs can address family and marital concerns; parenting; caring for elders; depression and other issues affecting the health and well being of members of your congregation.

Association congregations will receive LCC monthly Updates and frequent newsletters containing health and wellness articles and LCC news. They are invited to send their pastor and two voting delegates to LCC’s annual Corporators’ Meeting in March to elect board members and receive an annual LCC organizational update.

Membership Assistance Program (MAP)
Association congregations must be enrolled in the Membership Assistance Program (MAP) which is a cooperative ministry between LCC and the congregation. Congregation members with limited resources who are in need of counseling can receive help. The MAP program provides counseling for six different individual members, couples or families for a maximum of four visits each for a nominal fee of $25 per session. If an individual or family wants to continue beyond four sessions, they will assume responsibility to pay for additional sessions through out of network insurance benefits and/or sliding income scale.

Cost for the MAP program is $600 per year. Annual unused funds will support educational and counseling programs as well as seminars for participating congregations and their pastors.
